On Friday the 31st May and Saturday 1st June the kids and adults of St Andrew’s Pantomime Group performed in a Summer Variety show. There were rousing medleys ranging from Disney Musicals to songs with Colours in the words and an explosive opening from the Greatest Showman. There were sketches from the Doctor’s Surgery, the Opticians and a superb adaptation of Oliver by the St Andrew’s Kids entitled (in these days of equal opportunities) “Olivia”.
There was even time for a presentation of our very own ‘Scottish Play’ called “A Right Bonnie Charlie”, during which you could hear Scottish Accents the like of which haven’t been heard since Russ Abbot performed his see-you-Jimmy character! The shows were well attended and we raised over £1,200 for Wheatfields and the Yorkshire Cancer Centre, in memory of our long-time, much loved Musical Director Alan Makinson.
WELL DONE TO ALL!
